Best Teacher
Introduction.
Teaching is
a holy profession. After the parents, teachers play a big role in creating good
habits in the children. Students try to follow the guidance and motivation of
their teachers throughout their life. As
per my thought, Allah has given great strength to the teachers. Because
teachers do not teach only basic knowledge of the subjects, they also
teach the way of life. The teacher can play an important role in improving
his society.
I have read
and learned from a lot of teachers. My all teacher are respectable to me but Mr. Barkat Ali is my best teacher. I like him very much. Naturally, some people
have extraordinary qualities and good habits, which make them more unique men than
others. And Mr. Barkat Ali was one of them. He was headmaster in Government
Primary School Kotla Sanat Singh Wala Chak No. 43/R.B, Tehsil Sangla Hill,
District Nankana Sahib. He always did deal with all students equally. He had
vast experience in teaching the children from nursery to fifth class. Now that he
has died, I pray to Allah Almighty to rest his soul in paradise. He had the following
extraordinary qualities:-
Body Structure and Dress.
My best
teacher, Mr, Barkat Ali had middle height, a smart body, black eyes, whitish
color, and a sharp nose. His chest was broad and plain. He had a white beard on his face. He always wore a white national dress
(Shalwar Qameez), a black Jinnah Cap, black pair of shoes, and black socks. And
during winter seasons, he wore a coat or hand-knitting wool jersey over his white
suit (shalwar Qameez). He was a well-dressed man in the village.
A Good Administrative.
To keep the
clean school area and environment, he used the available resources in good
manners. He regularly visited the classes to check the uniform, hair, and
nails of the students. When I was reading in this school, at that time, elect
facility was not held in this area. During the summer, he had instructed the
class teachers and class monitors to keep open doors, windows, and ventilators
of the classrooms for ventilation. A lot of big shady trees were in our school
area. On a severely hot day, he had issued an order to the teachers to take the
classes under shady trees. As per the order of Headmaster Mr, Barkat Ali, five
big pitchers were kept under the shady trees to provide water to the school
children. And during the winter, branches of the trees were cut down, and classes
were arranged in an open area of the school to take heat from the sun. He had a
liaison with the local administration to ensure vaccinations for the children.
He always proved himself a good administrator. The parents of the children were
happy with his performance.
Command and Control.
He had good
command and control over his all juniors. He did not do useless talk with
anyone. He assigned the duties to the juniors as per their capabilities. Mr. Barkat Ali regularly asked juniors for
progress on the assignment. Therefore, all juniors performed well and completed
their assigned task within the stipulated time frame. He remained serious about
the improvement of the school up to his retirement. He paid full attention to
the welfare of his junior teacher and other staff. He was a cheerful man. He did joke with his juniors and students but
respectfully.
A Disciplined Man.
Your discipline standard shows your standard of conduct. Mr. Barkat Ali was a disciplined man. He addressed teachers, administration staff, and students on the importance of discipline two days a week. ”He often says that if you want to become a good man, you would have become a disciplined man. Do not use shortcuts at any time. Always keep yourself within the circle of rules and regulations. Rules and regulations make you a disciplined man. And discipline will make easy to your life”. Mr. Barkat Ali always followed the rules and regulations. He loved the students, but he did not compromise on discipline matters. He took strict disciplinary action against the defaulters without any discrimination.
Communication Skill and Contact.
During the
talk, he always used simple words and parliamentary language. Neither does he talk
with a loud voice or low voice. My best teacher Mr, Barkat Ali, had good communication
skills. He had the art to convey his message. People of all ages listened to
him with full attention and patience. Without any ambiguity, he offered his point
of view. Therefore, any time anyone had not faced a problem understanding his
talk. He had contact with parents and guardians of his students to guide them
for further improvement of the children. For the welfare of the children, he
had good contact with government institutions, private organizations, and social
workers who are working on the children’s welfare projects.
Healthy Activities.
As per the
age of the children, he had arranged healthy activities in the school. He often played and laughed with playgroup
kids to keep them happy. Every quarter, he organized sports competitions between
the children on the ground of the school. Headmaster Mr. Barkat Ali invited the parents of the children and honorable persons of the area. Awards are also distributed to all children.
Mr. Barkat Ali was also a good athlete.
A Humble and a Peaceful Man.
My best
teacher Mr. Barkat Ali was a humble and peaceful man. He remained cool and calm
during stress and strain conditions. Issues were solved by him in good manners.
During my five-year stay from first-class to fifth class in school, I did not
see him shouting at any teachers or students.
Sympathetic Man.
He helped
the people of his area without any personal gain. After school time, he taught
the 9th and 10th classes students without tuition fees. He
helped poor student to purchase books and uniforms. He felt happy to do
something good for others.
Conclusion.
My best
teacher, Mr. Barkat Ali Ex- Headmaster Government Primary School Chak No. 43/R.B
Kotla Sanat Singh Wala was a good man in all respect. Five decades have passed,
but I cannot forget his behavior, deal, and style of teaching. He was professionally
sound. He had exemplary character. Therefore,
today all walks of life people still remember him with a good name.
