GOOD LUCK AND BAD LUCK - MOTIVATIONAL STORY
Long ago, a poor man lived in a small town near a forest. His donkey went into the woods with other donkeys of the village to graze. In the evening, all the donkeys returned to their homes except for the poor man's donkey. The next day he searched in the forest but could not find it. People started saying bad luck. Some days later, the man's donkey returned home with many other donkeys from the forest. People were saying, that man is lucky. One day his son was riding on a wild donkey, and he fell down and broke his leg. People started saying bad luck. A few days later, the king ordered that all young men be drafted into the army. At the king's command, all the young men in the village enlisted in the army and were sent to the border to be attacked. However, the registration team left him due to a broken leg. People kept saying, it is good luck for the man and his son.
This story motivates us as under:-
- Control Yourself. At the time of occurrence of an accidental incident, we should not give comments or use words, especially unlucky, bad luck and unfortunate relating to the person who is affected by that occurrence. Because these words are discouraging to the individual and his family, close relatives and friends, therefore, we should have to control ourselves. Undoubtedly, some people issued such remarks in favour of his sympathy and they do not want to discourage him intentionally. we should use the supportive sentence for encouraging him. For example, if a person bears the financially, property or any other loss in an incident, we can use supportive words or sentences such as " occurrence report be forwarded for investigation to ascertain facts and recommendation". Or we can say" Our moral support is with you for receiving the compensation of loss as per the Rules and Regulations". As the young son of the poor man did not enrol by Army Selection Team due to his leg fracture but people started saying, it is good luck for the man. I think it was not good luck because the defence of your state or country is a holy duty of all citizens but he was deprived to perform the duty. How can they ascertain it "God Luck". However, these remarks show a lack of self-control.
- Greedy is Curse. I think greed means to have a desire or keep eye on the things of others and, try to get more than more materialized things by using all means. It is not my mean, you should not become a rich man. It is your right. Legally do hard work and get everything that you want. Do not become greedy and do not accept these things which have not been earned by you. However, you can get the money, property or other assets of your ancestors or parents according to the Rules and Regulations. If the poor farmer had not admitted the herd of the forest donkey so neither his son has to use the forest donkey for riding nor receive a major injury. Always path of greed end at loss and difficulties. It has no good side effects. Greed loses your integrity and honesty. It can also damage your hardworking capability.
- What is Good Luck and What is Bad Luck. I think if anyone is doing a good deed which is legally in all respect and he does not create problems for others. He is a lucky man. If a man is doing illegal and bad deeds so it would be his bad luck. Luck has no concern with materialized things. A rich person or poor man, a well educated or an illiterate person, a high-level official or a lower-level employee, a black man or a white man, a man or a woman can make themself good luck and bad luck with their deeds. Simple I would like to say, your character and code of conduct is your luck.
- Role of Creation and Incident. It has been observed a lot of people around the world think and believe that some animals, birds, stars, and their actions or movement have a role in good and bad luck. Even some say the occurrence of accidental incidents are also having an influence on good luck and bad luck. The appearance of the snake attributes to good luck, the arrival of an owl in a home is not good, break of a mirror is bad luck. Here, I would like to share a personal story, once I and my two colleagues were to be gone to another city. I called the driver and told him, Tomorrow, we will go to another city, therefore, check the vehicle and prepare yourself. we got up early morning and left our site. After one hour, we were passing through a small town at low speed suddenly a hen appeared and crosses the road. The driver stopped the vehicle so I asked the reason to stop the vehicle. He told me, today,s is not good for us because a hen crossed our way therefore we should not go forward. One colleague was also agreed with him and one did not agree with their opinions. As a senior, I motivated them to go forward. They agreed with the obligation if any accident or any other mishaps occurred, you will be completely responsible. The driver started the vehicle and put it on road. I observed him, he had agreed but his body language and face were telling his unsatisfaction. So I asked him to stop the vehicle and I took over the seat driving. We reached our destination and also came back safe and sound with the blessing of Allah (God).
- Unseen knowledge or Knowledge of the Future. Luck is an unseen knowledge or knowledge of the future. However, it is also related to Tacit and Explicit Knowledge. For example, if any person thinks or believes that the appearance of a snake is a piece of good luck so how can we ascertain what type of benefit will be attained and when the benefit will be received. Likewise. if any man has a belief that a black cat has come in our way or a hen has been crossed our way so, now the journey is not safe for us. How can we ascertain what type of untoward incident could be happened to us?. It belongs to the knowledge of the unseen. I believe that in this world, no one has this knowledge. The above mention story is also motivating us, we can not judge good or bad luck on the occurrence of any incident. However, science has made very little progress with the help of Tacit and Explite knowledge regarding the forthcoming weather, earthquake, cyclone or something else but often prediction of the scientists is not correct. Major religions in this world believe in the day of resurrection but cannot tell the exact date of this day. I concluded the following:-
- Only Allah (God ) best knows what is good Luck and what is bad Luck.
- Bad luck can be changed by doing good deeds and leaving by bad deeds.
- The appearance of any bird, animal, star or other else cannot affect our luck.
